This position is for Electric Systems SBU|
This position is for an electrical engineer that will become a part of the Electric Systems (ES) Simulation and Test Engineering (STE) organization. This organization is responsible for design, development, build and maintenance of test equipment supporting the ES Software, Systems, Embedded Controls, Power Electronics, and Power Distribution organizations. This test equipment ranges in complexity from simple manually controlled hardware (ie. switchboxes, harnesses) to automated test equipment (computer controlled instruments and resources).
Work closely with customers to forge a cohesive vision for delivering test equipment
Write desktop instructions and documentation to share knowledge
Adapt to the needs of multiple internal customers
Promote a positive culture by modeling "four gears" behavior
Work closely with section lead and other team members to develop test strategies
Design, develop, and support flexible test equipment that takes into consideration current and future business needs.
Model ethical behavior and safety consciousness in all situations
Evaluate safety compliance of all test setups
Communicate with program and product engineers to guarantee accurate definition of product requirements and test plans
Create electrical test equipment designs (schematics, assembly drawings, system diagrams, etc.) that are "build-to-print", procure necessary equipment, perform design reviews, oversee the build of test setups and perform/oversee checkout of test equipment.
Work with team members and other engineering disciplines to integrate test setups with products
Maintain budgets and schedules.
BE/NA in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
Candidate must have at least 7-12 years of demonstrated experience in electrical engineering test equipment design.
Candidate should have strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to establish and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.
Additional desired experience:
Familiarity with test requirements and solutions for aerospace or similar products is strongly recommended for this position.
Experience in mechanical packaging
Experience in software engineering
Previous support organization experience is beneficial
Avionic communication buses knowledge (ARINC-429, ARINC-664, CAN, others)
Hardware / software integration & troubleshooting
Linux and/or Windows System Administration
IPC Certifications (J-STD-001, IPC-A-620, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21) or equivalent
Masters/Bachelor of Engineering (BE/BTech.) degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
