Job title: District Sales Director

Job Purpose

Business development of the Hitachi Data Systems Product, Solutions and Services Portfolio in the defined Area of Enterprise Accounts and Prospects (Private Sector).

Responsible for the management and development of a team of Sales Account Representatives (SAR).

Reporting to the HDS Italy Country Manager

Key Responsibilities

Sales Deliverables

Responsible for profit and loss for the designated sales organization. Oversees overall customer satisfaction, sales revenue and profitability for the region. Provides approvals and pricing guidelines for highly competitive opportunities. Together with SAR, supports all aspects of regional sales activities, including complex deal structuring and forecasting. Drives the sales of HDS hardware, software, and solutions at the regional level through direct customer (and /or channels) and regional sales team contacts to increase revenue and profitability. Assesses and makes recommendations on market, sales, and strategies and structures to drive revenue, profit and market share within the region. Interacts closely with senior management to establish and enforce company policies as they relate to sales operations, forecasting and engagements with customers and partners. Recommends, develops and deploys programs to drive sales and meet overall corporate initiatives and objectives. Develop the partners' ecosystem to accelerate the business development in the defined region. Establish, consolidate, develop a strong network of relationships with clients, partners, opinion leaders, TPI (independent advisors).


  • Manage the SAR resources with respect to Corporate guidelines, Company Ethics and Values to fulfil sales needs for the region.
  • Allocate resources intelligently and delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively and fairly.
  • Set performance expectations and provide team members with clear sales direction and vision.
  • Handle multiple demands with competing and changing priorities calmly and professionally.
  • Coach, develop and encourage team to achieve beyond expectations.
  • Take responsibility for decisions and management communications.
  • Share information and proactively work business problems with relevant customer / HDS employees.
  • Conduct annual appraisals; regular progress reviews; identify and correct poor performance.
  • Develop a training programme that delivers current and anticipates future account management sales needs.
  • Team with all relevant HDS functions (HR, Legal; Finance, Sales OP, Commercial...) to achieve the business objectives


  • Degree or equivalent Formal Education
  • 7 years experience in IT, preferably in product and solution sales
  • 3-5 years experience of commercial operation and direct sales in the defined area
  • Customer and Business Orientated at Executive level
  • Self Motivated.
  • Eager to learn.
