General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Key Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer will perform duties which include system level build and design verifications of advanced Optical and Electronics systems and sub-systems. This position requires attention to detail, an understanding of engineering terminology and excellent interpersonal skills.

Additional Responsibilities

Ability to work unsupervised while performing high level system critical functions.

  • Analyze and verify Optical components using complex optical equipment, optical set ups and system-level design test stations.

  • Understand the relation between system-level design verification results and functions in compliance to program design documentation.

    • Ability to complete assigned tasks to meet monthly schedules.

    • Deliver repeatable high quality systems to meet Customer's performance criteria.

  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

Candidates must show a passion to build, Test and deliver repeatable high quality Optical Guidance systems to our Customer, the ability to understand advanced Optical/electronics systems and must possess excellent Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word skills.

The Systems Engineer position requires an Associate's Degree in Electrical, Software, Systems or Manufacturing or equivalent experience and two - four years of related experience on the Trident (Guidance/Fire Control) program.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within 18 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
