General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers.

GDMS has an immediate opening for a Digital Hardware Engineer to join our Engineering team in Scottsdale, AZ. The position provides an opportunity to support the development of cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to ensure GDMS and client technologies are functioning as efficiently as possible. The Digital Hardware Designer will be responsible for development, design and test digital processing and control hardware.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Defining the requirements necessary for the hardware design

  • Component selection

  • Circuit Analysis

  • Schematic design

  • Direct and guide printed wiring board (PWB)/printed circuit board layout

  • Direct and guide module testing and troubleshooting, as required

  • Assist with integration into final system

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems software solutions.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 to 8 years of experience in digital design (or Master's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience)

  • Sophisticated understanding of electronic equipment and systems

  • Extensive experience with Schematic capture, multilayer PWBs, and associated design tools

  • Experience with high speed digital design and high speed interfaces and associated analysis and simulation tools

  • Experience with analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, field-programmable gate arrays, and microprocessors

  • In-depth knowledge of circuit design and digital components for stress and worst case analysis under specified conditions

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required within 24 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
