A vacancy has arisen for a Tucano Flight Simulator Instructor at RAF Linton-on Ouse. The individual will be required to provide synthetic training for RAF Basic Fast-Jet Training (BFJT) students and Qualified Flying Instructors (QFIs) on the Tucano Simulator to required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and debriefing of syllabus training for BFJT students.
  • Conduct and debriefing of Staff Continuation training for QFIs, in accordance with Command Instructions.
  • Maintaining and distributing appropriate sortie records.
  • Maintaining a lively interest in and knowledge of defence matters in general, in order to play a part in the career development and guidance of junior officer student pilots.
  • Complete any miscellaneous task related duties as specified by the Site Training Manager.
  • To successfully achieve training and competency checks carried out on an annual basis.
Skills, qualification and experience
  • Central Flying School (CFS) accredited Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) of B1 or higher category.
  • Qualified as an instructor on Tucano or similar turbo-prop aircraft.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Holds a current CFS Tucano QFI Category.
  • Previous Basic Fast-Jet training experience with the UK Military.
  • Flying Instructional experience with the UK Military.
  • Knowledge of current UK airspace and operating procedures.
  • Central Flying School (CFS) accredited Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI).
