Duties include but are not limited to:
Engineering Specialist assigned to the Water Treatment Manager responsible for proposal development, system design, equipment specification, installation, and commissioning of water treatment systems especially as they pertain to Power Plant applications. The specific duties include providing direct support in conceptual design, performing water balance calculations, generating water balance flow diagrams, preparing specifications, evaluating bids, reviewing supplier documents, and providing on-site support of system construction and commissioning. Ensure engineering designs and equipment selections are consistent with project technical requirements, scope book, codes, and estimate. Other duties include performing operating and maintenance cost calculations based on estimated chemical quantities, supporting plant licensing efforts with technical calculations, and incorporating lessons learned from previous system commissioning into future design and specification efforts. The selected individual will participate in meetings with Clients, Senior Management, Projects, and Suppliers as needed to reconcile equipment design, evaluate bids, review supplier documents, and commission the systems in the field.
Must have experience with the following processes and technologies: coagulation, media filtration, and solids dewatering; brackish water and sea water reverse osmosis; ultrafiltration; electrodeionization; wastewater evaporators and crystallizers; and chemical feeds. Familiarity with steam cycle chemistry requirements, open cooling water chemistry requirements, ion exchange for softening and demineralization, thermal desalination, condensate polishers, and potable water/sanitary wastewater regulations is desired.
