As The Project Accountant, you will review aged accounts receivable balances with project management to determine if they collectable. You will prepare journal entries (revenue recognition, accruals, etc.) into financial system (SAP) and oversee projects, including potential revenue or cost overruns, current project position (unbilled, unearned, invoiced, cash collections), month-end reporting, and reconciliations. You will be expected to adhere to FCPA and SOX compliance requirements and ensure the propriety of accounting for financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and established policies and ensure internal controls are in place, including areas such as revenue recognition, cost accruals and EAC controls. We will look to you to review project related billings to customers and to develop a strong partnership with the project management team and provide ongoing support and advice. You will close projects upon project completion. You will actively participate in Project Review (PSR and PFSR) meetings and gain solid understanding of commercial terms of each project and assist with ongoing risk assessments, including unapproved change orders and claims. We'll look to you to monitor project performance against budgeted cost and hours; alert project managers when variances are spotted, and to communicate and provide information to internal and external audit teams.
