General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Software Engineering Technical Manager to lead a team of software engineers. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out critical national security missions supporting intelligence collection, processing and dissemination.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, test, and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Key Responsibilities

The Software Engineering Technical Manager will lead a team of engineers that conduct or participate in the research, design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms. Responsibilities include performance management, project management, career development, and program resource assignments. In addition, the Software Engineering Technical Manager will be involved in process improvement and other Engineering department initiatives.

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems software solutions.

The Software Engineering Technical Manager position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software, Systems or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline and two to four years or more of management experience in a related field or demonstrated leadership to meet the managerial expectations.

Applicants must exemplify excellent analytical and risk management skills and demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication skills, and an interest in advancing the business and their careers.

The ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
