GDMS has an opening for an Entry-level Test Equipment Design Engineer to join a team of engineers that design and manufacture a range of high-assurance, ruggedized computer systems, including mission computers, platform computing, special-purpose supercomputers and signal processing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Entry-level Test Equipment Design Engineers participate in programs to research, design, develop, integrate and test new systems prior to production and deployment.

Responsibilities may include the following:
  • Design, develop and integrate new test equipment designs
  • Develop test plans, procedures and reports
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials and cost estimates
  • Test software development using National Instruments LabWindows/CVI
  • Write test scripts
  • Develop emulation methodologies
  • Investigate and resolve problem reports
  • Integrate and test software and systems
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems' services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of test engineering principles. The Entry-level Test Equipment Design Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent and at least 0 to two years of related experience.

A Department of Defense security clearance may be required. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering and business systems and the ability to further advance GDMS offerings to the customer.

Candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office tools, low level software languages and scripting languages. Candidate should also have good written, verbal and presentation communication skills and the ability to produce effective, clear and concise technical documentation.
