General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Nuclear Weapons Security (NWS) Installation Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. NWS Installation Engineers analyze, design, develop and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort.
Additional responsibilities include:
The selected candidate will support Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts including the following:
• Perform tasks associated with equipment removal, installation, modification, test, operation and maintenance
• Become proficient with the Technical Design Package
• Assess the technical issues associated with field installation of projects including identifying and procuring special tools and test equipment, identify training needs, adverse conditions and safety, and a variety of unknown solutions being worked
• Generate and review problem reports and change requests
• Support updates and reviews to process documentation
• IPT deliveries include Installation Plans and Installation and Checkout Procedures
The candidate is expected to travel periodically to customer sites located in Bangor, WA and/or Kings Bay, GA.
Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
The Entry Level NWS Installation Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field and 0 to two years of related work experience.
Department of Defense secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
