General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Navy Fire Control Technician Subject Matter Expert to join our Trainers team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. In addition to receiving a competitive salary and generous health and personal benefits, the Navy Fire Control Technician SME will enhance their skill set among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues. The employee will also enjoy a flexible work environment where contributions are recognized and rewarded.
Candidates must be familiar with Fire Control (BYG-1 APB09 or more recent), be able to travel up to 25% of the year (approximate duration 2 weeks/trip), lift 40 lbs of computer equipment, and be familiar with MS Office products. Prior Linux experience also a plus. The position requires at least four to eight years of related work experience. Candidate will be required to provide expertise and training to Navy schoolhouse training staff.
Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
The Navy Fire Control Technician SME position requires a bachelor's degree in systems engineering or the equivalent and at least two to five years of related work experience. Applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of zero to two years of related experience are also eligible.
Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required within 24 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
