Our St. Catharine's office is looking for a Municipal Technologist ready to join our growing Canadian Operations within the Water group.

Reporting to the Design Manager or Project Manager the duties include:

• Apply academic and work term experience on municipal infrastructure projects to complete preliminary and detailed design of roadways, storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution systems and pumping stations;
• Assist in the preparation of engineering design calculations, design briefs and technical reports for municipal infrastructure, Class EA and land development projects;
• Produce base plans from topographic and legal survey plans; site and grading / drainage plans; design sketches, plan and profile and design drawings following municipal design standards for roadways, sewer, watermain, pumping stations, forcemains and development projects;
• Produce designs and detailed drawings of roadway, sewer and watermain, pumping stations, forcemains including details for construction;
• Prepare contract quantities and cost estimates
• Prepare construction specifications and assist with preparation of contract documents;
• Assist in co-ordination of drafting and design requirements with staff from other departments or offices, as required when working on joint projects;
• Assist contract administration staff, and undertake survey and field inspections as required;
• Attend client meetings and prepare meeting minutes/notes as required;
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and assist with preparation of proposals; and
• Other duties as assigned

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

• Post-secondary diploma from an accredited college in Civil, Municipal or Construction
• Eligible for registration with OACETT as a Certified Engineering Technologist
• Proficiency using Bentley Microstation is required
• AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or experience would be an asset
• Entry level to 5 years' experience is required
