Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Intermediate level Linux Integrator Engineer to join our Trainers team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security NA selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
Linux Integrator Engineer will analyze, design, develop and test General Dynamics Mission Systems systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional responsibilities include integration of Sonar, Fire Control and Imaging software onto COTS equipment, reading and debugging software, writing system scripts, troubleshooting hardware, and maintaining Linux operating systems. This individual may also be asked to document security on both new and fielded information systems, or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs

  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

  • Great opportunity to travel to many US and Australian Naval bases. Travel locations include, Honolulu, HI; Perth, Australia; San Diego, CA; Bremerton, WA; Norfolk, VA; Groton, CT and St. Mary's, GA

  • Intermediate knowledge of a Linux operating system. CentOS or RedHat Linux is preferred

  • Experience with administration of a Linux OS

  • Experience troubleshooting hardware

  • Understanding of virtualization concepts

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.

The Intermediate Linux Integrator Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in systems engineering or the equivalent and at least two to five years of related work experience. Applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of zero to two years of related experience are also eligible.

Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required within 24 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
