General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Program Manager to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to manage and oversee the external programs that support some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to direct all phases of external company programs that support General Dynamics Mission Systems operations and client work. Key Responsibilities

The Program Manager is responsible for managing the cost, schedule and technical performance of external company programs, and directing all phases of these programs from start to finish. Work will also include organizing interdepartmental activities to ensure that programs are completed on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities may also include program acquisition and management, with a focus on satisfying government contractual specifications and requirements. The Program Manager will also serve as the primary customer contact for all matters pertaining to the programs.

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs

  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership behaviors, effective communications skills, a sophisticated understanding of budget management and the ability to successfully manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems programs.

The Program Manager position requires a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Program Management, or a technical discipline, with two to four years or more of management experience or demonstrated leadership to meet the managerial expectations.

Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Additionally:

  • US Navy Submarine Command experience (2+ years) - required

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or production field or equivalent; MBA or project management experience or equivalent (5 years) – required

  • At least 14 years work related experience – required

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills – required

  • Willingness to travel - required
