• Working within the maintenance team to deliver maintenance and improvement activities, this could include, but is not limited to:
• Servicing and maintenance of existing plant and facilities
• New equipment build, test and installation, primarily mechanical and electrical
• Installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
• Movement or re-organisation of production lines
• Installation of services to support new equipment or processes
• Assist with implementation of changes to manufacturing processes
• Any other activities requiring practical engineering support in their implementation
• The ability and the capacity to understand a wide range of engineering functions and procedures for the relevant technology
• The ability to work co-operatively and liaise with people at all levels
• Good technical engineering skills and good practical skills, with a common sense approach
• The ability to negotiate with and persuade others
• Self confidence and ability to work independently and have good team working skills
• The ability and confidence to respond positively when under pressure

Basic Qualifications:
Job Holder Requirements:

• Good communication skills
• Highly motivated with a keen ability to use own initative
• Able to demonstrate strong independent working skills across Mechanical and Electrical disciplines
• Problem solving techniques and ability to work on own initiative. (Logical and systematic approach)
• Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills
• Experience working in a similar role, possibly from a maintenance, machine building or engineering technician background

• Electrical training against 17th edition
• Experience working with machine control (PLC etc.), pneumatic or hydraulic systems

Security Clearance:

• ITAR controls apply

Key EH&S requirements:

• Adheres to UTC's Cardinal rules and relevant site specific safety requirements
• Proactively seeks to introduce inherently safe processes and progressively eliminate health and ergonomic risks from the manufacturing process

From time to time the successful candidate may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given.
