This posting is for a Mechanical Engineer for design of tunnel ventilation systems for rail and highway tunnels. Must have the ability to use and interpret NFPA 502 requirements for design of ventilation systems using longitudinal jet fans including fan sizing and selection. Successful candidate will be responsible for generating one dimensional tunnel ventilation simulations for both normal and emergency ventilation conditions and must be able to use or learn one dimensional nodal simulation software such as SES, Tunven, or equilvalent. The ability to use or prior experience with three-dimensional CFD software is a plus.
Conduct independent work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. The selected candidate will be expected to devise new approaches to solving problems while using working knowledge of: precedents in their specialty area, the principles and practices of related technical areas.
