Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Position Purpose: The Release & Deployment Specialist designs, implements and operates the Release & Deployment Management process and has the responsibility and authority to achieve the desired overall process results.
Essential Functions:1. Define the Forward Plan for the release windows and cycles across a portfolio2. Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality3. Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates4. Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes5. Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations6. Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews7. Produce Deployment Guides, Run Books and Implementation Plans and weekly release Reporting8. Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required9. Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities10. Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.11. Continually work towards making improvements in the release process12. Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.13. Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks14. Establish measurements and targets to improve process effectiveness and efficiency15. Perform other duties as assigned
Other Requirements:1. Thorough understanding of ITIL Release and Deployment Management processes, policies and procedures2. Solid understanding of the ITIL Change Management Process3. Advanced knowledge of solution development lifecycle (SDLC)4. ITIL Foundations v3 or 2011 Certification preferred5. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal/external clients/vendors6. Collaboration, decision making skills and negotiation skills
