This position provides technical support in the HM&E testing area, during New Construction, PSA and for Delivered Ships.|
For new construction ships, the individual will work as part of a group of Engineers and Test Writers to provide evaluation, correction (if necessary) and approval of ship test procedures. Additional new construction duties will include providing controls and retest requirements in support of disturbed components, along with managing the Sat-For-Sea program.
For Delivered Ships, the individual will work as part of a group of Engineers and Test Writers engaged in the development of all non-nuclear test documentation (T-Phase TGIs) in support of Electric Boat's Overhaul and Repair work being accomplished at any location. Duties will include: Evaluating work phase TGIs to determine required testing for system recertification (using SUBMEPP Standardized Test Procedures) and reviewing completed T-phase TGIs to ensure testing is complete (e.g., ensuring items such as the valve lineup & test equipment used were within specification requirements) prior to submitting to SUPSHIP
Additionally, in either position, the individual will be responsible for performing calculations such as determining EMBT Blow rates, providing assistance to the D272 CTE in identifying testing required to support the various planned maintenance availabilities, review of work accomplished to identify any additions necessary to the Deep Dive test procedure and the review of completed TGIs for closeout certification.
This individual will be expected to ride sea trials in support of the at sea test program, and may be requested to support programs in Washington DC, Bremerton WA, Norfolk VA, Kings Bay GA Pearl Harbor, HI & Newport News Shipbuilding, VA. Must be capable of working directly with Electric Boat shipyard management, engineering and quality personnel along with representatives of ship's force, SUPSHIPS and NAVSEA. Will be expected to obtain RADCON training and medical clearance to support sea trials.
