About the Business Line
Building Engineering
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.

Job Summary
Our Cardiff office is a multidisciplinary office with 70 staff covering Building Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Transportation consultancy. The Building Engineering division has over 20 Engineers whose projects cover schools, hospitals and commercial builds within Wales and the Midlands of the UK. Some of our recent projects include;

• Bae Baglan School, Neath: A new build £30m Primary / Secondary School (3 to 19). (AECOM: Services MEP)
• Llandysul School, Cardiff: A new build £18m Secondary School. (AECOM: Services MEP / C&S / PM / QS)
• Cardiff & Vale College: A new build £40m FE College Campus. (Services MEP)
• Gwent SCCC: A new build £200m acute hospital which we're delivering through the Design for Life Framework. (AECOM: Services MEP)
• Midland Metropolitan Hospital, Birmingham: A new build £300m acute hospital. (AECOM: Services MEP)

The Associate Mechanical Engineer will effectively control all aspects of simultaneous projects from a commercial, managerial and technical aspect specifically focussing on our healthcare sector. Act as the key Client liaison across simultaneous projects. Act as a mechanical engineering technical lead; Undertake project reviews and checking in accordance with QA procedures. Define Mechanical Engineering strategies and undertake feasibility works across numerous project types. Undertake line manager responsibility for a mechanical engineering team. Prepare fee proposals for submission to clients, including resources and programme.

Minimum Requirements
You would ideally be a Chartered Engineer or close to obtaining your Chartered status with extensive experience in the Building Services Consultancy industry with significant experience within the Healthcare sector. You should able to demonstrate a full lifecycle experience across a range of projects, including new-build and refurbishment work. Particular experience in Healthcare desirable. Ability to deliver design solutions, lead teams and successfully manage projects. A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
