Job Summary
The primary focus of the role is to lead and manage project implementation aspects, in relation to Phase 1 of the planned extension of the Special Economic Zone in Gabon, of the Contract ensuring consistency and efficiency. Provide direction to various support functions that will assist the three Areas in their primary delivery role for the project.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for:
  • Deliver project management program/plan and Project Execution Plan encompassing all the details of the project to team members
  • Develop project goals and strategies to achieve project roles
  • In-depth knowledge of project requirements to coach and guide project team members in understanding their tasks and execute effectively
  • Develop a manning plan specifying resources, hours, budgets, costs to complete the extension of the Special Economic Zone
  • Regularly evaluate project progress
  • Adopt improved technologies, strategies and tools within project management where applicable to improve project performance
  • Evaluate performance of the project managers and interface managers
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the technical aspects so that project is delivered on time and on budget
  • Promotes, finds opportunities for and maintains teamwork
  • Maintain quality of work (statutory requirements, corporate standards)
  • Obtain all publications and policy statements related to the government's health and safety regulations, policies and procedures ensure that the Contractor draws up a site health management plan and keeps all staff fully informed on procedures
  • Ensure the deliverables of the project management team

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Controls environment in a EPCM team
  • Additional 2 years of experience in a leadership position overseeing project controls and other personnel on major projects or programmes in a EPCM team
  • Minimum 7 years of experience on asset delivery, i.e. design-build, EPCM, and EPC.
  • The Project Controls Lead must be able to demonstrate a high level of competency in the following systems and application of these systems:
  • Microsoft office suite of software including Access
  • Primavera P6 software, Microsoft Project software or similar
  • Document management and information management systems - Live link, Documentum, Acconex, SharePoint, 4Projects or similar
  • BIM and design knowledge integration systems
  • Integrated management software such as Proliance or Unifier
  • Desktop publishing such as Adobe Professional
  • Understanding of APIC or similar systems
Specific Skills required:
  • Pro-active, adaptable and ability to motivate team members
  • Able to set team priorities and meet critical time deadlines
  • Able to interface with both clients and other team at members at executive level
  • Expert knowledge of scheduling, performance measurement, and earned value principles
  • Operating proficiency with electronic project management and scheduling software tools such as MS Project, Primavera and Proliance/Unifier or similar cost and/or contract management systems
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction cycles (including field experience) and understanding of construction sequencing, means, and methods
  • Strong understanding of risk management processes
  • Strong understanding of various procurement contracts
  • Understanding of EPCM internal Finance Metrics (Multipliers, Margin, Revenue streams etc.)
  • Advanced report writing skills
  • Understanding of estimating
  • Understanding of cost account structures
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to Coach teams and advise employees on career progression
  • Ability to represent and protect the interest of the project and client at meetings

Will be located in Western African, French speaking country
Incumbent should be willing to move in-country
Should have experience in airports, roads and railway

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or certificate in a related field, i.e. Quantity Surveying, Project Management
  • Member of industry related professional organisation
