WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff has an immediate position available for a Senior Environmental Geologist in our New York City, NY office for the Environmental-Hazardous Materials Group.

Job Duties Include:
      • Provide environmental consulting services during design and construction activities
      • Develop, implement, and supervise Phase II groundwater and soil investigations during construction project design phases
      • Conduct and supervise Phase I Site Assessments
      • Develop specifications and project plans and regulatory permits associated with management of contaminated soil, construction dewatering, and remedial oversight during excavation
      • Classification of soils and groundwater for remediation and disposal
      • Conduct daily oversight of contractors performance of environmental compliance activities associated with, soil and groundwater management, noise controls and monitoring, historic and archeological resource protection, storm water management, air quality monitoring, diesel retrofits for on/off-road vehicles, spill prevention, recycling and sustainability
      • Conduct and document project meetings, perform technical reviews of environmental work plans, submittals and specifications
      • Perform routine air quality, water quality, noise measurements, and/or hazardous waste or related studies, inspections, and assessments
      • Document deficiencies through to resolution
      • Communicate with regulatory agencies as required
      • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Education Required:
      • B.S. degree in geology, engineering, hydrogeology, environmental science or related discipline
Experience Required:
      • Experience planning and conducting Phase I and/or II environmental investigation and remediation oversight, including petroleum spill delineation
      • Environmental compliance inspection experience
      • All candidates must have excellent analytical and time management skills, be able to work independently or in a team and be comfortable in either a field or office environment
      • Strong verbal communication and excellent report writing skills, with a desire to work in a professional, team-orientated atmosphere
      • Capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques and procedures
Desired Qualifications:
      • Working knowledge of ASTM standards and NYS environmental regulations

The selected candidate must have the ability to work in this country immediately.
