The Program
Here is your opportunity to work on the first ever high-speed rail program in the U.S. while growing your career on a groundbreaking project. The California High-Speed Rail program will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. By 2029, the system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds of more than 200 miles per hour. The system will also extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations.

The Role
The California High Speed Rail Authority has awarded WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff the Program Management role within the Rail Delivery Partners (RDP) program delivery team. As a result we have an immediate opportunity for a Systems Integration Developer. The candidate will be responsible for providing systems development and integration support for High-Speed Rail projects. Under limited supervision, the candidate will provide intermediate programming, configuring, and analysis for specific system assignments. The candidate will also interact between the infrastructure and operations team to provide additional support and problem-solving for escalated issues appropriately. Responsibilities include:
      • System programming and analysis tasks of intermediate complexity within a single system or group of sub-systems
      • Perform analysis, design, programming, and configuration functions (including defining technical requirements)
      • Perform analysis, assessment, and resolution of defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and escalate appropriately
      • Build effective relationships with stakeholders
      • Utilize business knowledge to explain technical activities in business terms
      • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities
      • Perform basic project coordination responsibilities
      • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees
      • Apply knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned project
      • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
The Requirements
      • At least seven years of relevant work experience
      • Windows Operating System and Server experience
      • Automation/Configuration Frameworks
      • Strong command line and scripting skills
      • Prior experience in a technical role in a private, state, or local implementation project
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills; team player
      • Experience with mixed project office environments
      • Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL and Oracle database environments
      • Strong skills in documentation and loves doing it
      • Stays up to date with new and emerging technologies; best practices
      • Understand and can develop metrics for how systems are performing
      • Adaptive and creative problem-solver
      • Must be eligible to work in the US immediately
