About the job

We have an opening for an Construction Administrative Engineer for our Dallas, TX office. Our Engineers work on high quality, high-profile, Local, national and international projects. The role requires a strong understanding of building MEP systems, ability to interact with Contractors, Architects, Owners and in-house design engineers. The position requires leadership qualities and strong ability to communicate with the project team both internally and externally.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ability to read and understand construction documents including drawings and specifications, contract review, review of shop drawings, response to contractor RFI's, monitoring all phases of project construction, maintaining master project files, documenting and tracking on site observations and punch list items, conflict resolution and coordination in the field, ability to provide filed direction on typical coordination issues and documentation of all field directives. Establish best practices methodologies in the effort to achieve the highest quality construction, while working within approved budgets and prescribed schedules.

• Work extensively with the project team (architects, engineers, general contractors, code consultants) in the development and execution of the construction plans
• Responsible for assisting in bidding
• Responsible for the WSP construction documents with construction team
• Perform periodic site visits and inspect progress of projects
• Attend site meetings when construction field issues arise
• Ensure that work is completed in conformity with design and Company requirements
• Responsible for weekly progress reports
• Participate in project turnover
• Oversee and coordinate punch list activities
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working in high volume capacity
• Solid decision making skills based on changing conditions
• Work collaboratively in a team atmosphere
• Travel as required

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Minimum 6 years of construction experience related to MEP systems
• High level understanding of construction processes and MEP systems
• Knowledge of contract requirements
• Market knowledge of construction trade and variables
• Ability to read and analyze construction drawings and shop drawings
• Strong communication skills, written and oral
• Ability to interact well with contractors, consultants, as well as owners and internal business partners
• Highly motivated, self-starter Strong sense of urgency
