The Program
Here is your opportunity to work on the first ever high-speed rail program in the U.S. while growing your career on a groundbreaking project. The California High-Speed Rail program will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. By 2029, the system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds of more than 200 miles per hour. The system will also extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations.

The Role
The California High Speed Rail Authority has awarded WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff the Program Management role within the Rail Delivery Partners (RDP) program delivery team. As a result we have an immediate opportunity for Project Managers to provide leadership and management for sections of the future system in Southern California.

The California High Speed Rail Authority has awarded WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff the program management role as the Rail Delivery Partner (RDP). As a result we have an immediate opportunity for Project Managers to provide leadership and management for sections of the future system, in Southern California. The role is located at our project office in Los Angeles and reports to the Southern California Regional Director of Projects. The role will suit those with a broad range of capabilities as tasks will be varied, including technical and task management matters. The position will provide a real opportunity to grow in a supportive environment.

Job Requirements
The Requirements
The principal requirements of the Project Manager are:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or a similar, relevant discipline
      • At least seventeen years of relevant experience in transportation engineering, design, construction, design-build delivery, or project and program management.
      • Experience must be in major rail transit, highways, elevated structures, or high-speed rail projects
      • Experience should include preparation of work plans, maintaining schedules and budgets, managing resources, preparing and reviewing reports and presentations, and working with clients
      • Proven leadership, team-building, and collaboration skills, including a proven track record for meeting established project and business goals
      • Excellent communication and negotiating skills for agreements with consultants and public entities.
      • The ability to speak knowledgeably with other consultants, stakeholders, other governmental agencies and individual citizens
      • Ability to analyze situations and data accurately, lead the development of effective solutions and strategies for planning, environmental, engineering, technical and logistical challenges for the delivery of the high-speed rail project
      • The ability to work in the United States immediately
Any of the following are preferred:
      • California PE license or the ability to obtain same through reciprocity
      • Five or more years of relevant experience in the delivery of high-speed rail or rail transit systems
      • Experience working with regional transportation, transit or rail agencies
      • Experience with third party participation, such as Utility Owners, Railroad, and other transportation agencies
      • Familiarity with state and local multimodal transportation systems within the assigned region
      • A working knowledge of state contracting procedures including those for Professional Services, Construction, Design-Build, and Maintenance Agreements
      • A working knowledge of the missions, goals, laws and rules to be implemented by the Authority
      • Preference will be given to local applicants with recent, prior experience working on major projects for the state of California or its agencies
