We are seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee bridge-related projects in Rhode Island with construction values ranging up to $30 million. The selected candidate will report to the Client's Director of Engineering to lead, supervise, inspect, report and administer construction project activities from pre-bid to closeout.

Job Duties:

Supervising inspection or monitoring elements that may include:
      • Welding (field)
      • Protective coatings (field)
      • Full-depth road box reconstruction
      • Utilities
      • Storm drainage
      • Excavation and fills
      • Revetments
      • Wetlands mitigation or restoration
      • Paving, milling or reclaimed pavement
      • Signage, guardrails, and striping
      • Maintenance of traffic
      • Reinforcing steel
      • Cast-in-place concrete
      • Waterproofing
      • Structural steel, bearings, expansion joints
      • Precast concrete elements

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
      • Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent)
      • A minimum of 15 years of related experience in bridge construction inspection and documentation related to structural rehabilitation, restoration, or welding and painting of major structures (i.e. suspension, precast segmental or steel box girder)
      • NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) Certification level 3
      • AWS (American Welding Society) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
      • NETTCP (Northeast Testing Technician Certification Program) Certification for hot mix asphalt, soils, or concrete
      • ACI Level I Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
      • Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) C-3 Certification
      • American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) level II
      • NICET III (or higher) Certification
      • Site Manager, Field Manager or APPIA software experience or with any similar construction documentation
Department of Transportation training from any state will be considered in lieu of NETTCP, ACI and NICET, subject to client approval.

The ideal candidate will reside within commuting distance of Narragansett Bay, and the surrounding area. The immediate ability to work in the United States is required.
