Over see the dynamic day to day operations and a crew of machinists and one salaried personnel at the MCA building. Ensure adherence to regulations and procedures regarding the support of Government property assigned to Dept. 242 as well as other waterfront trades while working with NAVSEA and various off site Naval facilities- this includes SPR's, and SPD's. Experience with the 1J file in MRP is helpful. Oversee refurbishment of D242 fixtures and equipment, including HYTORC equipment and pumps. Work with metrology to ensure all calibrated tooling is calibrated and preventative maintenance is performed as required. Provide tooling, kit and fixture support to waterfront and off site location such as QP and NNS in support of OSM operations and special project needs. Provide logistical support for the multiple trades which utilize the building, including NQC work, X-ray support for D100, and other Government property needs. |
Oversee a crew of boilermaker drillers in support of drilling operations for department and any waterfront trade which requires hole making evolutions. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, schedule and cost of drilling operations in new construction, PSA and over-hall environments.
• Applicant must be proficient in on hull drilling techniques and equipment such as Lamina hydraulic drills, magnetic based drills, and pneumatic corner drills.
• Applicant must be proficient in hole making, threaded hole making, threaded hole inspections, counter boring and countersinking as required per drawing and ER requirements.
Must be proficient in EWP, MRP, can read drawings and understand hole making nomenclature within drawings.
