About the Business Line
Infrastructure Services
We are planners, materials scientists, engineers, engagement consultants, asset managers and geotechnical specialists. Our team works to shape and influence some of our world's most complex and challenging infrastructure. We also provide complementary services to other AECOM teams working in the sectors of Mining, Transportation, Manufacturing, Industrial and Water.

Job Summary
The role of the Lead Civil Engineer - Urban Infrastructure is responsible to lead, develop and grow the Urban Infrastructure team within the broader Civil Infrastructure and AECOM business.

We are looking for a pro-active and competent engineering manager with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of supporting skill development by mentoring a team of engineers and designers. Overseeing a team which delivers civil engineering design, investigation and documentation for a range of civil infrastructure aspects relating to Surface Level Infrastructure, Earthworks, Stormwater Drainage and Utilities. The role will provide technical guidance and also assist the Urban Infrastructure Team Leader with recruitment to support the delivery of work, acting as a Project Director or Technical Lead where required.
successful candidates will have the ability to work efficiently with sound time management skills, with a demonstrated capability in managing staff/projects, competing priorities, and reporting on operations to senior management. You will have demonstrated credibility in the industry and a capacity to generate project work with clients in the development and civil infrastructure market and sectors including:
  • Urban Renewal
  • Major Transport Infrastructure
  • Defence Infrastructure
  • Renewable Energy Developments
  • Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
  • Commercial and Industrial Site Development, and
  • Other miscellaneous civil infrastructure.
The candidate will actively monitor key developments within the industries in which the team participates, identify and track opportunities with relevant internal and external clients.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering
  • 15 years relevant professional experience preferably in a consultancy environment
  • Experience in completing and managing civil design for urban precincts and/or brownfield site development projects
  • Strong client management capability and network
  • Experience managing teams' performance and development
  • Advanced skills in design management and stakeholder consultation
  • Strong skills in report writing and bid document preparation
  • Project and commercial management experience
  • Profile and client network in the Urban Development industry
  • Defence Experience
