We are seeking a Safety Engineer to join our Construction Services Group, working from a project site in Staten Island, NY.

The Safety Engineer, using established procedures and guidelines, will assist in the management of safety in association with the Corporate Safety Manager and Operating Company management.

Job Duties:
      • Reviews local and state requirements
      • Provides guidance to local management.
      • Teaches and trains employees and project staff on OSHA safety standards in construction and general industry.
      • Conducts safety inspections and audits and creates/maintains appropriate documentation.
      • Consults and assists managers in development of safety programs and policies for projects.
      • Conducts accident and incident investigation and training to include reporting and corrective action.

Job Requirements
      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction or a Safety-related field
      • A minimum of 10 years of directly-related experience (c ertification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BSP) will be considered in lieu of experience)
      • Current authorization to teach OSHA 10 and 30-Hour Outreach Training in construction and/or General Industry.
      • Experience in training and training development.
      • Knowledge of hazard assessment (JHA) and mitigation techniques
      • Ability to consult with clients on project related safety issues
      • CSP certification preferred
      • Previous experience in water supply and facility construction preferred
The selected candidate must be able to work in the United States on a full-time permanent basis immediately.
