Job Summary
The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a Contract Finals Assistant for immediately employment; the employee will be assigned to the MD SHA District 7 Headquarter located in Frederick, MD. This qualified applicant will be conducting periodic field audits and final audits of construction projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Audit items of work to assure method of measurement and basis of payment are in accordance with specification and special provisions
  • Verify accuracy of measurements and computations using various mathematic formulas and to determine that proper original documentation exists
  • Prepare contractor's semi-final voucher
  • Submit a summary of all items of work to the contractor as final quantities of his consideration and acceptance
  • Audit monthly progress vouchers prepared by the project engineer
  • Audit project documents for verification of quantities entered on monthly voucher
  • Prepare the District Engineer's Certificate of Completion of Work, summarizing contract progress from contract advertisement to final acceptance
  • Prepare a letter to the Chief Engineer explaining reasons for contract over or under run in excess of 5% and the explanation for individual items that exceeded a plus $5,000.00 over or under run
  • Prepare final voucher and send final voucher and necessary letters to transmittals to the Chief Engineer, Construction, for final payments
  • Record monthly status of contracts for which the contractor has not received payment on the Monthly Status of Contracts-Unpaid

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Well-developed math abilities
  • 2 years of experience with State DOT Transportation Projects involving project finalization and close out
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written
  • Excellent time management skills; self-motivator, team oriented
