General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Intermediate Level Linux Integration Administrator to join our Trainers team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Linux Integration Administrator will analyze, design, develop and test General Dynamics Mission Systems systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional responsibilities include integration of Sonar, Fire Control and Imaging software onto COTS equipment, reading and debugging software, writing system scripts, troubleshooting hardware, and maintaining Linux operating systems. This individual may also be asked to document security on both new and fielded information systems, or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.
Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems software solutions.
The Linux Integration Administrator position requires at least an associate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or equivalent field and four to seven years of related experience. Candidates with a bachelor degree may also qualify.
Department of Defense security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Linux/Unix/Windows System Administrator experience including Shell scripting, Windows PowerShell, SQL.
Must experience with a wide variety of operating systems including Linux/Unix; Windows, Windows Server. Hands on experience with backups, Ghosting, end user support.
Must be CompTIA Security+ Certified.
