General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Engineer to join the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT). The position provides an opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Our employees work closely with the MDA to develop the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS); to include the deployment of the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) system. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for providing support to the S8.2-3 Task Order Lead in handling the complete lifecycle of the negotiated spiral content on the C2BMC program. The Senior Project Engineer will support cross spiral de-confliction, functional area coordination, and technical issue resolution. The Senior Project Engineer will have chief responsibility in maintaining the S8.2-3 Summary Level Schedule and will provide leadership to the S8.2-3 Cost Account Managers (CAM) in ensuring the Earned Value baseline aligns with the Summary Level Schedule. In addition the Senior Porject Engineer will assist to ensure execution of the C2BMC technical baseline within scope and program agreed schedule constraints. The Senior Project Engineer will be chiefly responsible for the coordination and delivery of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL) that cross multiple functional areas. The Senior Project Engineer will be required to have extensive technical knowledge regarding the development lifecycle and be able to manage a spiral from Engeineering Development, Test, Deployment and governement acceptance. C2BMC program expertise is preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
The Senior Project Engineer (MDNT) position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Engineering (CPE), or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience and at least 12 to 17 years of related work experience. Applicants with a Master's degree will require 10 to 15 years of related work experience. Greater than two years of C2BMc experience is preferred.
Department of Defense active SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
