General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Information Assurance Cyber Engineer to join our Information Assurance team. The position provides an opportunity to work directly with some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to secure client's information systems and their contents. Key Responsibilities
The Information Assurance Cyber Engineer interacts with General Dynamics Mission Systems clients to recommend and provide information assurance solutions “including supporting certification and accreditation activities. Counsel will be based on the employees understanding of the way various products and services interrelate. Team members also develop the verification procedures used in risk assessments and security tests and evaluations. The selected employee will develop various security documentations, including security, configuration management and contingency plans in compliance with Information Assurance policy. It is also the responsibility of the Senior Engineer to conduct risk assessments.

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively manage and protect information systems in a cost-effect manner.

The Information Assurance Cyber Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Electrical Engineer or the equivalent, and a minimum of two to five years of related experience. Applicants with a master's degree and zero to two years of related work experience also qualify.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with DoD 8500.1 Cyber Security requirements, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirement Guides (SRGs)

  • Demonstrated experience with Department of Navy (DON) security test tools (e.g. eEye Retina, ACAS, STIG checklists, and SCC) and reporting system (eMASS)

  • Demonstrated experience with leading and authoring Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages (DIACAP Implementation Plans (DIP), Plan of Action & Milestones, Risk Assessment Reports, Scorecards, Test Plans, and Validation Reports), System Security Plans, Contingency Plan, and Incident and Response Plans

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including interfacing with customers

  • Demonstrated experience in providing technical direction and mentoring/training to IA/Cyber engineers relative to Customer IA/Cyber requirements and conduct of respective Certification and Accreditation activities
