About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary
  • Perform operation, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, onboard maintenance training, assessment, inspection, groom, calibration, removal/installation, overhaul, repair, restoration/refurbishment, modernization, and/or upgrade of Navy surface combatant ship communication (COMMs) systems, equipment, and antennas.
  • Write technical, debrief, and trip reports.
  • Conduct oral debriefings to management and technical personnel.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Must have successfully completed U.S. Navy or USCG COMMs system/equipment "A" and/or "C" school or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of Navy COMMs systems including: a minimum of six (6) years total experience in troubleshooting, repair, and assessment of COMMs systems; (experience may be concurrent).
  • Must have knowledge of electronic/fiberglass repair skills including EMC, basic/advanced soldering, wire-wrap, and connectorization.
  • Minimum of six (6) years actual hands-on experience in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and assessment of COMMs systems (experience may be concurrent).
  • Must be capable of using and reading technical operation and maintenance documentation and manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and data tables.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of technical publications related to Navy surface ship combat and/or electronic systems.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral expression.
  • Must know theory of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Must possess or be able to attain a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred experience in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing electronic, electrical and mechanical assessments, alignments and fault corrections; and inspections on surface ship systems/equipment including, but not limited to:

• Antenna Systems, AS-390, AS-1735, AS-2809, AS-3226, AS-2809, AS-3226, AS-4366, and AS-4163.
• AN/URT-23, AN/URC-131, AN/URC-109, and AN/URC-146.
• NAVMACS, AN/SYQ-7 variants and AN/SYQ-26 variants.
• Tactical RF Communications Systems including, but not limited to, SAS, BAS, COMSEC, and AN/USQ-155.
• Tactical RF Link Systems including, but not limited to, AN/SRQ-4, AN/URC-93, AN/URC-107, AN/URC-141, and AN/USQ-167.
• Shipboard Wireless Communications Systems including, but not limited to, AN/SRC-47, AN/SRC-53, AN/SRC-55, and AN/SRC-59.
• Tactical Amphibious Communications Systems including, but not limited to, AN/SRC-60 and AN/KSQ-1.
• Miscellaneous: AN/SRC-54, AN/GRC-211, AN/VRC-46, AN/URC-139, RD-674, MOBI, EPIRB, and Portable Systems (AN/PRC-XXX).
• VHF/HF: AN/URC-10, AN/VRC-4, AN/SRC-5, AN/GRC-21
