Job Summary
AECOM are seeking two transport engineers to join our Transport Advisory team based in Melbourne. This is a specialist technical role in the field of transport planning, traffic modelling and transport engineering advisory services. The role requires proficiency in the use of traffic modelling packages such as SIDRA and/or VISSIM. In addition, experience in the utilisation of mesoscopic simulation and corridor traffic/ transport modelling packages for the simulation, analysis and assessment of major urban infrastructure projects would be welcomed. The role also requires contributing to the delivery of high profile transport infrastructure projects for a broad range of government and private sector clients, as well as supporting senior staff in the development of opportunities (business development, marketing and networking) and preparation of bids.

Ideally you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in professional services, preferably in consulting and advisory work.
  • Good technical skills, knowledge and experience in transport planning and transport/ traffic modelling.
  • Understanding of the theory of engineering principles regarding design and road safety and its application in a range of scenarios to analyse real world problems.
  • Experience in using SIDRA or VISSIM (and similar applications) for transport/ traffic modelling simulation.
  • Interest and engagement with professional development opportunities.
  • Ability to successfully manage small to medium sized projects, including taking financial responsibility and responsibility for delivery.
  • Proven ability to build, maintain and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Experience in managing the preparation and delivery of successful bids and proposals.
  • Ability to manage the technical delivery on small to medium sized projects as well as technical delivery in the specialism as input to larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Motivation to advance and transfer skills in the field of transport planning, traffic modelling and traffic / transport engineering advisory services and related specialisms such as road design and road safety.
  • Expertise in stakeholder consultation and management.
  • Developed project management skills.

Minimum Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering or a related discipline is essential; Postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
  • 3-7 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in operational and network traffic modelling packages including but not limited to SIDRA.
  • A proven track record in working on multidisciplinary projects, across the project lifecycle.
