We have an urgent opening for a Senior Inspector to join our Construction Services Group in Baltimore, MD.

Job Duties:
      • Inspect the work of contractors on highway, street, bridge, water and wastewater systems facilities or other complex construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications, standards and codes.
      • Complete reports on the number of employees on a job site, amount of work performed, materials used, weather conditions, accidents on the job site and equipment used.
      • Perform routine field tests on materials used such as slump test, air content test and dye test and records results.
      • May inspect excavation and fill operations, the placement of forms for concrete mixing and pouring and asphalt paving.
      • Draw diagrams and sketches of inspection sites including the location of utilities and obstructions.
      • Maintain a daily inspection log.
      • Perform related work as required.
      • Remain knowledgeable about construction methods and procedures; concrete mixing and pouring; construction codes and specifications.
      • Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with construction specifications, standards and codes.
      • Complete routine forms and reports and maintain a daily inspection log.
      • Perform routine field tests on construction materials.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in the field 90% of the time and may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required as needed. Position requires unrestricted mobility, including, at times, unrestricted mobility in irregular terrain, and the ability to stand for long periods of time. Work is performed within a general office environment 10% of the time.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
      • HS diploma or equivalency certificate
      • A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a construction field inspector on highway/roadway, street, or bridge projects
      • Valid Driver's License
Desired Certifications:
      • Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP)
      • Soils & Aggregate Compaction Technician
      • Concrete Field Technician
      • HMA Field Technician
      • Maryland Department of the Environment's Green Card
      • State Highway Admin Erosion & Sediment Control Cert (Yellow Card)
Note: If your certifications are expired you will still be considered for the position.

Previous SHA experience is preferred!

The selected candidate must be able to work in the United States on a full-time permanent basis immediately. Local candidates only!
