As a Production Engineer based in Crawley, you will oversee the technical aspects of production programmes to ensure the most efficient and economical methods of manufacture. Work closely with the engineering department on new and modified product designs, ensuring optimisation of designs for efficient cost effective manufacture. Excellent opportunity to work on products that are interesting and diverse, ranging from avionic to tactical radio equipment and knowing your effort is on the complete supply chain.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintaining the companies manufacturing routing file for separate assemblies and sub-assemblies; and generating up to date detailed manufacturing routing instructions
  • Liaise with component and equipment manufacturers, and sub-contractors, to ascertain their competence to supply, and resolve production problems
  • Resolve day to day problems in the manufacturing area in order to maintain efficient production flow
  • Review product defining data in accordance with manufacturing readiness to support production build plan
  • Provide detailed process instructions for “in house” manufactured items, to enable the most efficient usage of production resources.
Skills, qualifications and experience
  • Degree or HNC qualified and with manufacturing experience in a commercial project environment, ideally with military knowledge
  • Electronic background is highly desirable, along with manufacturing project management expertise
  • Worked in a design environment and have proven cost savings for DFX
  • Problem solving skills who has strong communicator skill and is able to influence
  • Drive, enthusiasm and determination to succeed, with a “Can do” attitude
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload in order to deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines.
