Division or Project Summary
PROTRANS BC is the private operator of the Canada Line, a 19-km automated rail-based rapid transit system connecting Downtown Vancouver with central Richmond and the Vancouver International Airport. Located in Richmond, they are a part of the PROTRANS family of SNC-Lavalin O&M, a global solutions provider to facility and asset operations.
The Electronics Supervisor supervises the activities of technicians and contractors for maintenance, repairs and new installations of electronics systems. The Electronics Supervisor also schedules and co-ordinates special projects, ensuring that priority is given to failures affecting service, and checks that work carried out is done according to specification, quality and safety requirements.
Recommend and assist in the development of policies, procedures and programs.
Directly participates in the recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary processes
Supervise service contractors' and technicians' work and ensure compliance with corporate, departmental, safety and other regulating policies, codes and standards.
Ensure all necessary tools and materials for scheduled maintenance requirements and special projects are available in stock.
Prepare work schedules and assign special projects and repairs by priority on a daily basis.
Respond to emergency incidents day or night and prepare reports.
Participate in the preparation of the departmental budget and business plan and lead or participate in various committees and meetings.
Develop and deliver various on the job and classroom training sessions.
Perform relief duties for manager as required.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronic engineer from an accredited university or 8 years experience maintaining electronic communication equipment or equivalent experience.
High School Graduation (Grade 12)
Prioritization of workload to minimize asset and equipment failures, and completion of planned scheduled work.
Able to respond to callouts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and work shifts.
Valid class 5 BC drivers license.
A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
