WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff is seeking a Lead OCS Engineer to work in the Newark, NJ office. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in the following projects:

Projects include:
      • MNR New Haven Rail Yard: Design through Final Engineering for a new east end connection from the yard to the mainline
      • Newark Regional Transit Center: Preliminary and Final design for modification of existing Davis Interlocking

Specific duties of this role include the following:
      • Candidate will work within a team on catenary designs for new, modification of existing and perform catenary inspection work
      • Candidate will develop catenary layout plans, design profiles, calculate loading diagrams and develop hardware/support assembly details
      • Interact with engineers from other companies as well as transit authorities and heavy rail entities on OCS designs and interfaces to subsystems external to OCS systems
      • Travel to customer sites to gain an understanding of project requirements
      • Create and provide presentations of OCS and associated systems designs to customers

Job Requirements
Education Required:
      • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or an equivalent documented degree from a foreign university
Experience/Skills Required:
      • The successful candidate will have 7 to 10 years of experience in the design and inspection of catenary system for streetcar, light rail and regional rail systems
      • Experience with engineering design on at least three transit or commuter/intercity rail projects
      • Good verbal and written communication skills
      • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications
      • Proficient in the use of MicroStation/AutoCAD
      • Good written and verbal communications skills and understanding of English Language
Desired Qualifications:
      • PE license
      • MS in Mechanical Engineering

The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
