We are seeking a Supervising Civil Engineer for the civil/infrastructure group in our Sacramento office. The position entails the preparation of road and highway designs, plans, quantities, specifications and construction drawings for transportation projects. Specific tasks include planning, assigning, and checking work, giving instructions and assistance, maintaining discipline, making technical and management decisions, and handling difficult technical and administrative problems in connection with the work of engineers and others. As a Supervising Civil Engineer, the successful candidate will ensure that assigned projects are completed within scope, cost, schedule, budgeted resources, and acceptable standards and practices; prepare correspondence, reports, and technical proposals; make original investigations in connection with the preparation of unusual or complicated designs; supervise the preparation of transportation environmental reports and surveys; supervise the preparation of progress and final estimates; supervise the preparation of transportation and encroachment permits; and, finally, effectively identify and assign resources to meet engineering project and operations schedules. The position also includes opportunities to present information to the public on transportation engineering matters and to represent WSP/PB at meetings.
