POL Superintendent (Contingency Hire)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The Petroleum, Oils, Lubricants (POL) Superintendent directs all bulk fuel marine, aviation and ground fuel operations; facility and mobile refuel vehicle corrective and preventive maintenance programs; POL laboratory operations: and bulk fuel inventory accountability and management. The position develops and approves procedures for performing petroleum operations and fuel terminal management and administration. Additional responsibilities are providing technical assistance for petroleum facility project design and repair, to include review of publications and drawing. The Superintendent oversees POL annex-level budget, safety, training, facilities, environmental, minor property, shop stock inventory, and personnel management programs. Duties include researching and assisting in developing company position on, contractual issues. The POL Superintendent develops cost estimates supporting contract modifications and additional work.

  • EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • CERTIFICATIONS: Passenger vehicle driver's license. Commercial driver's license (CDL)
  • EXPERIENCE; Ten (10) years of experience in liquid fuels and fuel terminal operations (i.e., receiving POL products; issuing via tank truck, pipeline, barge, ship and tank car; maintenance, repair and modification of POL storage, distribution and dispensing systems). Four (4) of the ten years of experience must have been served in a supervisory capacity. Two (2) years of specialized experience with pressure-type hydrant and pantograph fuel systems. One (1) year experience in mechanical, electrical, control and fire prevention.
  • ABILITIES: The candidate must be a self-starter capable of working in a fast paced multi-discipline team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve team goals. Proven management skills to include effective planning, organizing, directing and controlling with strong decision making capabilities. Excellent analytical skills - data driven, fact based, root cause focused. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to lead a team to consensus. Understanding of litigation and claims processes and experience with legal communities. Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and listening. Ability to interact with staff at all levels from craftpersons to senior executives. Knowledge base to successfully diagnosis issues that cover multiple areas of interaction.

  • Must hold US Passport
  • SECRET clearance with 12 monthly remaining validity
  • Fluent in English language
  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
  • Must possess driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
