About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior ESOH Engineer to perform Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) support tasks for systems, subsystems and equipment. This position is in support of NAVY and Marine Corps programs in our Stafford and Dahlgren, VA locations!

The candidate would conduct analyses/studies and identify safety problems and issues and help develop resolutions in support of the program/project Principal for Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health.

Develops documentation such as hazard analyses. Must be capable of preparing complex reports, briefings and presentations.
Provides direct supervision to junior technical staff members. The candidate must have a high order of analytical ability and a
practical and theoretical knowledge of the functions, processes, and principles of management. Must have knowledge and
experience in work planning, task scheduling, work progress assessments, review's with Government clients. Must direct and
supervise junior technical staff, prepare complex technical documentation, conduct technical reviews, and make technical
  • Identify, research, analyze, and document ESOH and system safety element problems and provide recommended solution alternatives.
  • Perform routine customer interface in order to execute MIL-STD-882 ESOH and system safety tasking and status reporting of tasks.
  • Review reports, technical papers, drawings, specifications, procedures, etc.; consolidate comments from various organizations; and draft reports. Develop technical data packages in support of WSESRB, FISTRP or SSSTRPs.
  • Preparing routine correspondence (i.e., letters, memos and route sheets), spreadsheets, Gantt charts, presentations, and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain ESOH and system safety engineering support data, planning schedules, and documents.
  • Apply MIL-STD-882 methodology across varying complexity levels of projects/programs.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related scientific/math field and at least 10 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require travel.

Must have experience with the application of MIL-STD-882 and the Joint Software Systems Safety Handbook (SSSH). DoD/USMC acquisition training/experience and understanding of the Acquisition Process and intertwinement of ESOH requirements and System Engineering requirements is a plus. Position will require an active secret security clearance.
