A group company within NTT DATA currently seeks a "Sr. Storage Admin" to join our team in "Bangalore".

Position Functions or Responsibilities: JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Storage / Backup Engineer
Position Overview:
The Senior Storage / Backup Engineer should be able to design, build, automate, support, and manage new and existing SAN and Backup Infrastructure. Must be able to support highly available 24/7 SaaS customer environments. NTT DATA supports multiple clients whose environments are dynamic requiring the NTT DATA engineering team to ensure stability and scalability of the environment. Soft skills as well as technical skills are critical in the position of a Sr. Storage / Backup Engineer. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The Sr. Storage / Backup Engineer will work closely with other technology teams troubleshooting customer issues. This role involves working after-hours and weekends in support of customer network maintenance. Position requires 7 AM - 5 PM CT client support with after-hours and weekend consulting support to be expected.

Position Requirements and Responsibilities:
The Senior Storage / Backup Engineer will support multiple Non-Hosted accounts, working with a team of NTT DATA Engineers. The Sr. Storage / Backup Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting SAN storage, backup, hardware, connectivity, server and peripherals issues. Candidate must be able to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision.
Position Requirements:
Storage Engineering Skills
• Minimum 8-years of SAN architectural build implementation and delivery support, troubleshooting experience of complex storage infrastructure technologies in a SaaS environment
• Minimum 8-years solid Storage experience in multi-data center environments is required
• Expert-level understanding of Layer 2 and 3 internetworking technologies
• Solid experience supporting NetApp Data ONTAP 8.x software, NetApp FAS series arrays, including 7-Mode and Clustered Data ONTAP, including hands-on knowledge of Aggregates, Volumes, LUNs, Shares, and Data Reduction in medium- to large-scale SAN and NAS environments
• Experience supporting EMC storage (VNX series in particular) and NetApp Snap family of applications (SnapMirror, SnapManager, SnapVault, etc.)
• Solid understanding of storage technologies in general
Backup Engineering Skills
• Experience with a variety of traditional and cloud-based backup applications
• Minimum 5-years hands-on experience on in Enterprise Backup and Recovery utilizing products such as EMC Avamar & Data Domain, Quantum tape libraries, EMC VTL, NDMP Backups, Veritas Netbackup, Vertas BackupExec, Azure Backup, Netbackup Ops Center, Catalogic DPX, and Asigra backup products
• Knowledge of SAN fabric, tape drives, tape libraries, Deduplication, disk storage and VTL's (virtual tape libraries)
• Experience with VMware and Netbackup integration is required (Accelerator, Instant recovery, replication director, etc.)
• Extensive VMware, Windows and Linux experience
• Enterprise Disaster Recovery experience strongly preferred
General Consulting Skills
• Strong customer facing skills and ability to drive troubleshooting with multiple vendors and internal teams
• Solid experience creating technical and process documentation
• Effective communication (oral and written) and organizational skills
• Ability to independently handle and prioritize multiple projects
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Minimum 6 to 8 years client service experience (i.e. consulting experience)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
Position Responsibilities:
Storage Engineering Role • Draws on data storage management experience and skills with NetApp FAS, NetApp filers, Clustered DataONTAP, SnapMirror, EMC Symmetrix, VNX Arrays, FAST-VP, Thin-Provisioning, Perl and Shell, support and maintain all data storage and related components
• Provide technology architecture support for storage platforms in multiple remote locations
• Responsible for installation, administration, data-migration, provisioning, and decommissioning of large multi-site SAN environments
• Responsible for storage provisioning tasks beginning with end user requests, Performance tuning, creation of LUNs, mapping, masking, zoning, and ensuring storage availability at the operating system
• Responsible for storage performance analysis and troubleshooting as well as storage capacity management and planning
• Support customer's NetApp and EMC storage solutions
Backup Engineering Role
• Configure all aspects of the backup infrastructure including disk/tape topologies as directed in various configurations using knowledge of backup concepts
• Responsible for backup and recovery methodologies and application of these methodologies including retention, reclamation, and disaster recovery
• Support customer's Asigra backup solution and Catalogic backup software
General Consulting Role
• Provide storage and backup expert consulting and guidance on client engagements
• Provide level 3 (advanced) technical system expertise, oversight, and accountability for resolution of outages, service level issues, and user/customer support needs in coordination with the Operations Support Center / Service Desk
• Work Incident and Service Request tickets and follow-up on service request with server and 3rd party vendor teams
• Participate in Project Planning and Design Work sessions as needed as a Sr. Storage/Backup SME
• Compliance with organizations operating standards and change control processes
• Transfer knowledge and provide leadership support to team members in the implementation of new hardware, operating systems and new software technology
• Proactively assesses exposure areas and takes steps to reduce vulnerabilities
Education and Certifications:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• VMWare Certified Professional certification, or or equivalent hands-on experience
