Job Summary
AECOM's Buildings Places business line is dedicated to excellence and integrated design solutions. Our expertise includes workplace strategy, economic and development planning, master planning, urban planning, architecture, interiors, building engineering, and landscape architecture.
Our Minneapolis office is actively seeking a dynamic Project Manager for immediate employment in our Architectural Design Practice with the primary responsibility to plan, direct, and supervise all operations included in large, complex project or several moderately-sized projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing and leading all technical, financial and client satisfaction requirements using consistent processes and tools; project teams may include multiple members often representing multiple disciplines as well as sub-consultants and may include team members from remote offices.
  • Managing projects on a local to national basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance and client satisfaction
  • Developing strategies, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, executing projects, and resolving complex issues, as well as having an understanding of all tasks associated with design, management, planning and direction of projects and construction document preparation
  • Acting as a primary point of contact with client and has full responsibility for project delivery

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
  • 5 years project management experience
  • Experience in Healthcare and Higher Education
  • Experience on all phases and aspects of small to large and complex scale projects
  • Knowledge of design management, scheduling, estimating, and client management
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Architectural licensure
  • Well developed and effective communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Must be able to lead a team effort, direct and delegate work to all team members to enable them to work independently, whether located locally or remotely, as well as mentor staff
  • Flexibility to travel within the United States
  • Understanding of the capacity of the following programs and the type of documentation they produce relative to project deliverables such as: three dimensional modeling software Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite, Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Having an understanding of various regulatory building codes; working knowledge of current construction materials and methods thorough knowledge of design production techniques, including computer software for drawing, scheduling and reporting tasks
