About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
This position is located in Mannheim, Germany and is contingent upon contract win.
Working from blueprints, work orders, inspection report, plans and specifications, inspects, installs, repairs and maintains all types of refrigeration, dehumidification and air conditioning systems and equipment by testing, locating and diagnosing causes of malfunctions of systems. Performs maintenance and repair on the following types of equipment and systems: domestic refrigerators, air conditioners, water coolers, air filtering and dehumidification equipment, etc. Removes and cleans air conditioning filters with soap and water and rinses by dipping in boiler. Duties will be varied.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Physical requirements include prolonged standing, moderate walking, repeated bending, climbing, overhead work, working in cramped positions, lifting, pulling and pushing weights up to 100 pounds. Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) and good hearing (with or without a hearing aid) required. Must wear respirator when applying cleaning solvents to cooling tower. Will work inside and outside in various weather conditions. Subject to rapid changes in temperature due to nature of work. Hazards include danger from gas fumes, falls, electric shock and burns, cuts and bruises. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.

Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
High school diploma or GED is required. Specific training and thorough knowledge in the particular area of facility maintenance, plus a broad knowledge of other disciplines such as general math, etc., is required. Ability to read and understand blueprints, work orders, inspection reports and specifications is required. Knowledge of principals and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration, dehumidification and air conditioning systems. Must have the ability to weld, braze and solder. Ability to calculate air flow and pressure temperature characteristics for various systems is required. Hold site certification for operation of heavy equipment. EPA Freon Recovery license required. A minimum of three (3) years of documented, verifiable work experience is required.
