About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced surface ship HM&E Piping Systems Subject Matter Expert in support of Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk Va.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and programmatic support to accomplish various assessments on HM&E piping systems for the following systems: Auxiliaries, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Halon, Counter-measure Wash-down, Air Systems, Hydraulics, and Steam and Main Propulsion.
- Conduct cold checks of equipment condition and parameters for out of specification settings.
- Provide on the job training to Ships Force during any shipboard evolutions.
- Observe operation of the equipment by ship's force to witness the full range of performance, where possible

Minimum Requirements
  • - Working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.
    - Past experience using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.
    - Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and control schematics.
    - Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes.
    - Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
    - Minimum of eight (10) years general experience with the installation, operation, repair, testing and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion and auxiliary equipment.
    - Experience in the assessment, repair, and maintenance of piping systems structure on US Naval ships.
    - Minimum of eight (8) years specialized hands-on experience working and inspecting ship piping systems. Knowledge of welding and QA inspection requirement for piping systems on Navy Ships.
    - Current (within three (3) years) experience with these piping systems.
    - Possess a current security clearance
    - Capable of obtaining a Common Access Card
    - Possess a valid passport.
    - Some CONUS or OCONUS travel may be required.
