WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff's Detroit office has an opening for a Senior Bridge Engineer, with 7 to 10 years of experience in structural design focusing on bridge design. This is an ideal job for a highly motivated, self-driven and enthusiastic candidate who is eager to help further the development of the structures team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative team office environment with the ability to work on a variety of technical skills that adds value across the organization.

This includes structural analysis and design of a variety of structure types on medium to large scale bridge and transportation projects, condition inspections, and construction inspection.

Primary responsibilities will include:
      • Performing as a project engineer on structural projects
      • Performing structural condition inspections and construction inspection
      • Performing structural analysis and design of mainly bridges and other transportation structures
      • Responsible for plan production and coordination with other disciplines
      • Provide quality reviews, including checking of calculations and design plans
      • Coordinating and training other engineers and technicians
      • Interfacing with clients and subcontractors
The successful candidate for this position will be involved in the upcoming design of major transportation projects as well as on-going projects with MDOT and other clients. There will also be opportunities to participate in transportation projects around the country.

Job Requirements
Requirements include:
      • A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering focused on the transportation industry
      • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering required; Master of Science in structural engineering preferred
      • Michigan Professional Engineer's (PE) license
      • Completion of NHI 130055 Course preferred
      • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Specifications
      • Understanding of MDOT design standards, policies, and procedures
      • Strong knowledge of structural design and transportation industry software
      • Strong knowledge of Microstation
      • Good oral and written communication skills
      • Capability of performing as a project engineer on small to medium size projects and as a task lead on major projects with minimal supervision
      • Candidate must be able to work in the United States immediately
