We are currently looking to recruit a Procurement Bids Analyst (m/f) based in Derby, United Kingdom.


You will be working on several bids within the UK market, coordinating the compilation of supply chain data and information for UK Rolling Stock and Service Engineering bids, to enable the approval of a bid in accordance with Group and Divisional processes. You will be in charge of managing tasks and identifying cost reduction opportunities thought the entire bid.

Your Tasks

  • Working with the Engineering function to define a Bill of Material. Co-ordinate, validate and manage the collation of data to support the costing of the Bill of Material
  • Identify appropriate supply chain approach for the execution of the contract, for example inventory, warehousing and logistics
  • Preparation of Blue Book input during the governance process
  • Identify and manage cost reduction activities
  • Particpate in Risk identifiaction and management reviews
  • Management of the supply chain element of the Blue Book process through the life of the bid
  • Working with other regions to benchmark bids and to develop standard models
  • Support development of new product concepts with the Sales and Marketing function

  • Strong experience in either engineering or commercial field, withing a complex manufacturing environment
  • A CIPS qualification or a similar professional qualification would be desirable.
  • Advanced user of Excel, ability to work with Macros and data analysis functions.
  • Understanding of Vehicle Work Breakdown Structures and how vehicles are maintained.
  • Strong ability to negotiate and communicate clearly across different levels.
  • Flexibility and good attention to details are mandatory.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English is essential. A second language would be useful.
