About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary
This position is located in Mannheim, Germany and is contingent upon contract win.

Inspects product for conformity to established quality, health, safety, legal, business, ethical or other standards, by performing any combination of the following duties: examines raw materials for quality and manufactured items for defects and for conformance to specifications, visually and using sample models and instruments, such as scales, gauges, templates, calipers and micrometers; verifies that established standards are maintained relative to such matters as food-growing, processing and marketing, product-packaging, storage and transportation methods, building and facilities and business practices, operations and services. The Inspector affixes seals or tags to approved items, issues or revokes licenses and permits or ascertains that licenses and permits have been obtained and are displayed, confers with officials, interprets regulations and codes, and assists establishments in altering methods and practices to meet established standards. Investigates complaints and violations, prepares reports of findings and action taken or recommended, files charges and testifies in court, recommends changes in standards, administrative procedures, facilities, methods, and practices.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years actual and recent experience in the field.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of general quality inspection procedures, maintenance forms, records, reporting system, and management thereof.
  • Must have knowledge of the scopes and limitations of various categories of maintenance and their applications to the contract unit.
  • Must be capable of reading, interpreting and using complex blueprints, schematic diagrams, and data tables.
  • Must be able to perform complete technical inspection of contract units and be able to determine that completed repairs comply with standards described in applicable publications.
  • Must be able to instruct and demonstrate correct maintenance techniques and procedures.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
