The Services team within Bombardier in North America, numbering over 1,700 professionals through 12 current contracts, is responsible for third party Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for commuter and light rail transit systems, overhaul and refurbishment of passenger rail cars, material solutions (spare parts, engineering and innovative long term material supply agreements) and technology solutions (creating and implementing innovative products and technologies for our transit clients).

For our growing operations and upcoming projects in Florida and the surrounding area, we are currently looking for a Site General Manager.

In your role you will:
  • Federal, State and Corp compliance in regards to all policies, regulations, obligations and commitments;
  • Strategically plan for succession;
  • Have responsibility for all aspects of planning, workload planning, quality, training, ensuring all required maintenance regimes are robust, that all maintenance activities are performed as per regulation, obligation or requirement, that all employees are qualified and that all records and documentation is complete and being maintained;
  • Build upon current employee engagement using all means available including but not limited to visualization boards, communication tools, team meetings, feedback sessions, surveys, etc.;
  • Be able to lead change management at a site level (with external support as required);
  • Solicit employee input and feedback regularly reporting on actions and findings;
  • Practice, promote and develop Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools drawing upon corporate support as required and or there is benefit;
  • Identify risks or potential risks within the business requesting internal support as required in order to validate and or develop and implement mitigation/risk avoidance plans;
  • Communicate formally timely and effectively upwards within the Services business any and all operational exception, variations to plans and or budgets, etc that could increase our exposure to risk;
  • Lead, promote and support the Bombardier Code of Ethics, policies, practices and initiatives;
  • Oversee the development of your site team's leadership and professional capabilities;
  • Be the point of contact with the Customer representing Bombardier.

As our ideal candidate you possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility of senior management in Equipment maintenance, Facilities maintenance, Rail operations and dispatching;
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the heavy rail industry (Passenger or Commuter Rail), which includes leadership, customer service, KPI management, budget preparation & control, and a thorough working knowledge of all State, Municipal and Local regulatory requirements including CFR & OSHA;
  • Strong planning and problem solving, leadership, focus on results, interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships;
  • Knowledge of Project Management and customer service and customer relationship management;
  • Solid Management experience Including staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement;
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal Railroad Administration(FRA) rules and regulations as well as CFR 49.
