About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
The AECOM Water Business Line is actively seeking a Construction Inspector for immediate employment in our South Florida Operations. The appropriately qualified applicant will have a high school diploma and experience in the construction inspection of civil infrastructure projects, including, but not limited to, drainage, water, sewer, earthwork, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, water control structures, pump stations, and retaining walls.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
  • Perform daily field inspections
  • Maintain inspection records
  • Participates in preparing punch lists, observing tests, and facility commissioning
  • Track quality assurance progress
  • Inspect construction progress, which includes ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications; observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship
  • Review of contract plans and specifications for compliance with project requirements
  • Observe work for compliance with contract documents, reviewing and responding to shop drawing submittals, responding to request for information, clarifications, proposals, and change orders
  • Assist with review and reconciliation of construction schedules
  • Schedule updates and review of contractor requests for payment
  • Observe testing and review test results for conformance with technical specifications, confirming quantities for pay applications, and assisting with verification of project completion milestones and contract closeout/commissioning

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of experience
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Vertical construction experience
  • Completion of FDOT Construction Training Qualification Program Courses:
  • Asphalt Paving Levels I and II
  • Concrete Field Inspection Certification
  • Earthwork Construction Inspector Level I
